Love audiobooks, but hate to have to keep track of all those casettes and CDs? Try a Playaway. Since there's no downloading to do, it's the simplest way to listen to a book on the go!

What are Playaways?
A Playaway is an audiobook and player all-in-one. Ready to play when you are, they're pocket-sized and come preloaded with one book per MP3 device. Think of it as a battery-operated book - an entire book, right there in the palm of your hand. Using clearly marked buttons, Playaway gives listeners the ability to move back and forth within or between chapters and alter the speed of a narrator's voice. It even has an automatic bookmark feature that remembers where you left off.

All you need is a set of earphones to plug into the universal headphone jack (they can be your own or you can purchase a new pair for $2 at the Check Out Desk, they will be yours to keep). In order to ensure sanitary conditions, the library cannot supply earphones with the players.

Playaways are available at the Canyon Hills Branch of the Anaheim Public Library. The rental cost is $3 for 2 weeks.
